A Tucson intersection will be closed this weekend as crews continue construction work.
Alvernon Way and 5th Street will fully close beginning at 7 p.m.
Friday and remain closed through 7 a.m.
Crews will rebuild the intersection as part of the ongoing project.
Work will include installing new asphalt, completing underground improvements and upgrading traffic signals.
Columbus Boulevard will remain open during the closure.
Businesses located near the intersection will also remain accessible, according to project officials.
