Tucson wants you to vote on these new neighborhood home designs
Tucson wants you to vote on these new neighborhood home designs.
Tucson residents can now help shape the future look of their neighborhoods by voting on their favorite new home designs.
City officials are asking the public to review submissions for the Middle Housing Design Competition, which aims to add more diverse housing choices across Tucson.
According to the Tucson Planning and Development Services department, the competition features plans submitted by architects and designers for duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, and small stand-alone units.
Community members can browse the submissions online and vote for up to three of their favorite designs.
The public's feedback, along with a panel of jurors, will help city leaders decide which designs will move forward as pre-approved plans in Tucson's model plan library.
These pre-approved plans are intended to fit the existing character of local neighborhoods while expanding housing options.
To participate, residents can view the floor plans and details for each submission, which include unique concepts like the "Terra Court" stand-alone units, "The Complement" duplexes, and "Casa Cuatro" fourplexes.
The designs range from micro-units and studios to two-story triplexes.
