Tucson family gets AC after 20 years of serving local youth.
A Tucson family who has spent decades helping local youth is now enjoying a cooler home thanks to a new air conditioning system.
Yvonne and Jimmie Nelson have spent more than 20 years supporting children in need while raising six kids of their own.
Until recently, they endured the Tucson heat without central air.
A new A-C unit was installed at their West Monte Vista Drive home.
"We're very thankful for Semper Fi for just even considering us," Jimmie Nelson said.
"Our kids will come home and just 'we're hot' and it's been a struggle," Yvonne Nelson said.
The family says they are grateful to retire their swamp cooler for good.
