The county says it was 98% ready for the Iranian national team when it learned Mexico would instead host the players for training.
Nearly $120,000 arrived from FIFA this week in the form of reimbursement, Sarah Hanna, the county's stadium district director told News 4 Tucson.
That's money Pima County pumped into the Kino Sports Complex in the form of fertilizer, stadium signage and a privacy screen.
The organization also donated equipment that had already been shipped here for the Iranian national team, Hanna said.
That includes netting, goals and other field equipment worth about $40,000 in total.
